Vertebrate Project–Mule Deer

  1. Mule deer are cousins of the black-tailed deer and the white-tailed deer.
  2. Mule deer have fuzzy antlers, which is not like the other kinds of deer.
  3. Mule deer are bigger than their cousins.
  4. Mule deer can migrate about 150 miles in two days!
  5. Mule deer are found in the flat plains where the bison live.
  6. Mule deer have white chins.
  7. Mule deer do not run, but they “pront”, which is a kind of jumping running where they land on all fours.  That is how they move around.
